Memorial artwork at Groningen’s Selwerderhof

Client: Selwerderhof Cemetery Groningen
The Selwerderhof cemetery commissioned artist Jimi Kleinbruinink (b. Groningen, 1987) to create a memorial piece. Visitors can use this burial site to stop and think of those who are no longer with us. The memorial work features a lectern, which contains writing materials and ribbons on which visitors can leave their memories and thoughts. The ribbons can be tied onto the artwork. Alderman Joost van Keulen inaugurated the piece on Friday 12 June. He did this by tying the first ribbon to the work.
