Bio:
Multidisciplinary rapper and producer Jay Waldo began freestyleing at the age of sixteen. After countless cyphers, he was persuaded by his friends to write lyrics. With a healthy releance he began writing his own lyrics, but once started there was no way back; Jay Waldo immediately fell in love.
Gradually, Waldo released singles. These were well received by the public.
While learning, Waldo decided to take the productions into his own hands, and changed his music to Dutch-language rap.
Inspired by artists such as Isaiah Rashad, J Cole and Vince Staples, Jay Waldo creates hip-hop and rap with influences from soul, jazz and r&b. His texts cover topics such as relationships, social issues and self-discovery. Jay Waldo is still looking for himself.
Jay Waldo has collaborated with Grammy-nominated producer Sim Fane (Dionysos), the punch-out battles rapper Kaascouse (one season) and has received coaching through Grondslag van de Dope D.O.D producer Chubeats.
His latest single is less person. This song is about what money does to your self-image, how many euros are you happy with? Is it ever enough? And are you worth less as a person if you have a little less?
