Unremarkable Spaces
About this activity.
During the exhibition *Unremarkable Spaces*, Jeffrey Linker is exhibiting old and new drawings. Jeffrey draws inspiration from unusual architectural constructions and dynamic geometric structures. The Galerie Keik premises provide an ideal venue for showcasing his work.
For this exhibition, he is also exhibiting two drawings which will be displayed in the gallery’s shop window. For these works, he drew inspiration from the spaces within the gallery on Boterdiep. The fact that this is a unique building, which also houses an architectural practice, makes the work all the more fitting.
In Jeffrey’s drawings, you can lose yourself in a forest of charcoal. Like an old-fashioned game of hide-and-seek, you can briefly disappear into the dark image he creates with charcoal on the paper. The charcoal is applied to the paper in such a way that it almost seems to be falling off. The last patch of white paper, or the whiteness of the chalk, offers the final glimmer of light in the darkness.
But once you get used to the absence of light, you begin to see more and more in the dark.
