Family Palette

About this activity.

Minne Onnes, Gerda Onnes, Theo Onnes, Klaas Onnes, Joke Onnes, Karin Mennega, and Flip Gaasendam are exhibiting paintings, photography, mixed media, and three-dimensional works.
What you can see is the strong artistic family bond with the late Klaas Onnes Sr., whose paintings are also on display.

Klaas Onnes Sr. lived and worked on Schiermonnikoog. His paintings, which prominently feature the sea, beach, and the island, naturally continue in the work of his son, Minne Onnes. As a painter, Minne developed his own recognizable visual language, in which the influence of the sea and the mudflats continues to resonate.

The third generation gives this a contemporary and versatile interpretation. Gerda, Theo, Klaas, and Joke present work ranging from painting to photography and mixed media. Each of them follows their own artistic path, with a personal approach and expressive power.

Klaas and Joke's partners are also taking part in the exhibition. Karin Mennega shows three-dimensional work where materials like paper, textiles, and ceramics come together.
Flip Gaasendam is represented with paintings that highlight his craftsmanship and artistic signature.

Family Palette shows how art can grow, shift, and renew itself within a family, while a sense of connection remains. An exhibition where individuality and togetherness enhance each other.

The exhibition can be seen Thursday through Sunday from 1:30 to 4:30 PM.

Kunstruimte De Smederij is een sfeervolle locatie aan de rand van Sappemeer.
Er vinden maandelijks wisselende exposities plaats.
