Nienoord Manor

About this activity.

The heart of the Nienoord Estate is the ochre-yellow manor house. That is where it all began in 1525, although it no longer resembles the castle of that time at all. During the last renovation in 1887 by Jonkheer Johan Aemilius Abraham van Panhuys (1836-1907), elements of the old manor were preserved.

As a visitor to Museum Nienoord, you can view the first floor. A permanent exhibition has been set up there about the notorious residents and their influence on regional development. The stories are hidden within the walls, where animations take you back to the former wealth of Nienoord. You will also learn about turbulent times and wars in the area, as well as the personal dramas of the residents.
