Young Talent

Forma Aktua
10 June 2026 to 5 July 2026

About this activity.

Four exhibitors in search of connection, distance and proximity, people and relationships, intimacy, giving meaning, movement and change. Experience it at the inspiring exhibition of these young talents!

Danne Bouman: Paradox of Connectedness
From her hometown of Groningen, Danne paints the delicate paradox of human connectedness: our deep longing for closeness juxtaposed with the loneliness of our own bodies. Her works depict fleeting, unintended moments of vulnerability, with rich textures and patterns that make her subjects tangible yet elusive. Her paintings move between figuration and abstraction – between intimacy and distance, body and landscape, reality and illusion.

Vlada Chernavina: Attention to Detail
With a background in classical art, Vlada brings a meticulous, almost meditative attention to detail. Her pencil drawings, often combined with ceramics, textiles, or printmaking, intertwine personal and cultural memories. Vlada reinterprets myths, childhood stories, and symbols that have shaped her, giving them new life by blending traditional techniques with modern elements. The result is intimate and layered, inviting the viewer into a space where nostalgia and renewal converge.

Bohyeon Hwang: Unknown Sensations and Modes of Existence
She is an artist based in Groningen. She obtained a Master's degree in Painting cum laude from the Frank Mohr Institute in 2025. By interpreting the characteristic materiality that reveals itself in the transformed forms of objects as a kind of non-verbal expression, she translates this into painterly gestures and layers of material. Her work explores the unknown sensations and modes of existence that arise from processes of transformation and metamorphosis, rather than from completed or intact forms. In 2025, she was selected as the recipient of the Thomassen à Thuessink YoungMaker Purchase from UMCG and as a laureate of the annual international painting prize Novembre à Vitry in France. Abiha Naderi: Optical Illusions
Moved to the Netherlands in 2018 for his Bachelor of Fine Arts at Academie Minerva. After graduating in 2022, he exhibited in various cities in the Netherlands and held several solo exhibitions, including one in Germany. He perceives things in the light of materiality, whether they be memories, thoughts, or media. Abiha creates optical illusions and allows the object to represent itself. In his artistic practice, he uses paint to blur the boundary between reality and illusion; for him, illusions are visual translations of uncertainty. His work challenges perception. It offers a vision that invites the viewer to come closer and explore, yet, just like with a mirage, the distance between what appears to be there and what is present cannot be bridged. By experimenting with different materials, he aims to evoke a sense of doubt in viewers, causing them to question what they are perceiving.
