MYTH MAKERS – Édua Mária László en Huba Hőnigh
About this activity.
Within societies, stories emerge that shape our belief systems and influence how we experience the world around us. They become embedded in architecture, symbols, rituals, and our collective memory. The Hungarian artist duo Édua Mária László and Huba Hőnigh explore these inherited stories by comparing different timelines and juxtaposing collective mythologies with personal forms of myth-making. Hőnigh approaches this from the perspective of an observer: he processes archival material into collages where new meanings and unexpected connections arise. László develops a more intimate visual language, using symbols and imagery to create a personal narrative and a form of self-understanding. Their exhibition MYTH MAKERS at Afslag BLV is divided into three themes: Dutch identity in times of globalization, the symbolic world of antiquity, and self-mythology.
