About this activity.
4 Euros for Wash & Dry is an experimental exhibition created by third-year students from Academie Minerva for an annual event called Maydays.
“For our project, we developed a laundromat-inspired space at Kunstpunt, with the explicit goal of creating a third place for visitors. Our aim was to encourage people to seek out social interaction, perhaps through unconventional methods.This project is important to us as artists because we have noticed the global decline of third places and the accompanying lack of sociability – art has sometimes been used as a means of fostering successful community and connection. This inspired us to take steps in that direction. A large part of the project’s focus lies in cardboard and handmade objects, as we wanted to emphasize the personal and human aspect. To maintain a cohesive atmosphere, we decided as a group to use the same materials.”
