About this activity.

Are you a drawing professional or a first timer? Everyone is welcome to join our drawings sessions. We have some material you can use, but also bring your favourite tools (pens, pencils, markers, crayons, brushes…) and join! Every edition we invite a guest artist who can inspire us with a display of their work. For this edition, artist Riane Pater has something else in mind and we will explore how it is to draw like a child again.

When can you still experience things as if you were a child? We go back to a time when you had little control over your hand and how you drew. Riane Pater has developed new ways of drawing for us. Join us and experience a different dimension of drawing by using Riane’s self-made tools.

Riane Pater is an artist living and working in Groningen who is fascinated by the world around her, and the way we, the people, live our lives with the things we have made. Through her works she wants to express her absurd perspective on life, which she herself proclaims to be neither wrong nor right. 'What can we hold on to if there is nothing to hold on to' is one of the questions that's proven essential to her work.

During this edition of Drink & Draw you can listen (and draw) to music, selected by musician Julia Bekker (Vanity Box).
