My illustrations are firmly rooted in classical painting, but these days I embrace a sense of joyful freedom. I’m head over heels for the cozy charm of the Groningen countryside, its quietude, its vast skies, and that raw, unpolished atmosphere that naturally colors my visual language.

Using collage and mixed media, I build bespoke visual stories for publishing, editorial, and creative collaborations. Inspired by the likes of Quentin Blake and Fiep Westendorp, I infuse every piece with a playful energy. Sometimes meaning reveals itself in a tiny, sparkling detail; at other times, it lingers in the quiet, open spaces left to the imagination.

Alongside my personal work and guest lessons, I love collaborating with clients to give their narratives a distinctive, vibrant soul. Whether it’s a whimsical children’s book or a striking editorial piece, my illustrations are a layered invitation to look closer and tell a story together.
