I am Yontz. My real name is Jantje Jonkman and I live and work in Usquert.

My work consists mainly of monoprints and paintings. Most of the time, I work abstract, but often a landscape element emerges. I work without a fixed plan, quite intuitively and playfully. The work reveals itself, as it were, during the process of creation.

I graduated from Academie Minerva in 1998 and soon after entered the field of education. During the years I taught, my artistry was on the back burner. Since I was forced to stop teaching due to illness, I have managed to redevelop myself as an artist and, in a way, I am at the beginning of my career again.
