Alienation
About this activity.
For thirty years, Ineke Pals owned a bridal shop. With her creative spirit, she ensured that every bride looked unique on her wedding day.
Pals retired a year and a half ago due to her age. During the coronavirus pandemic, she and her husband took many walks because the shop was closed. It was during these walks that she discovered her camera, which she often brought along.
Ineke has since completed the two-year training program at Fotolocatie in Groningen. The great thing about this program is that you discover the direction you want to take in photography. In her work, she has always strived for perfection and attention to detail. This is reflected in her photos.
The mannequins, which Ineke brought from her shop, are a source of inspiration. She has photographed them many times, and her creativity is far from extinguished. The photos of the "ladies" are sometimes unique and uncanny. The images are carefully designed and styled. Are you looking at a person or a doll?
The images she creates demonstrate her attention to both the subject and the materials. For example, she uses mirrors, which create an alienating effect. She often works in series and enjoys black-and-white photography.
