Now at the Art Rental: Wim Bosch - Real Estate
About this activity.
Architecture is central to the work of Wim Bosch. He investigates how buildings and their surroundings reflect our daily lives, and how fragile that reality can be. In his solo exhibition Real Estate, Wim presents a selection of works from the period 2008–2018, which have not previously been shown in Groningen. From October 9 through November 15, this work will be on view in the Art Rental of Kunstpunt.
Wim Bosch works with both his own photographs of everyday, often anonymous buildings and with existing visual material. Through isolation, manipulation, or repositioning, he gives these images new meaning. Wim explains:
“What seems familiar suddenly appears strange, fragile, or monumental. The tension between what is revealed—the new meaning that emerges—and what remains hidden—the original context that fades—creates a play of appearance and disappearance.”
His images thus balance between document and manipulation, between the modernist promise of order and the chaotic reality of today. Bosch invites viewers to look again and to continually discover new layers of meaning.

About Wim Bosch
Wim Bosch (1961) is a visual artist, curator, and lecturer at Academie Minerva. He lives and works in Groningen. In 1992 his work was awarded the Royal Award for Modern Painting. Since 2002 he has focused mainly on photography and digital art. His work has been exhibited in various venues in the Netherlands and abroad, including MK Galerie Rotterdam/Berlin, Kunstverein Dortmund, Sammlung Philara Düsseldorf, and Wallhouse #2 in Groningen.
