Painting

Danne Bouman (2003) graduated from Academie Minerva in 2025 and took various courses at the Klassieke Academie.
With a foundation in classical painting techniques and a fascination for contemporary painting and material research, Bouman brings together two worlds.

She is intrigued by the paradox of the human desire for connection versus the inherent loneliness and isolation of embodiment. In her work, she explores this tension and investigates the role of body language. Through the use of abstracting techniques, her human figures become elusive, visualizing this inner search. Caught between the persistent urge to return to the subject and the desire to estrange it, her work moves within a space of in-betweenness — between body and landscape, reality and illusion, exhibitionism and concealment, connection and isolation —

The intimate, bodily images turn the viewer into a voyeur and invite reflection on the complexity of perception itself.
