Multidisciplinary artist Stijn Valentijn (Groningen, 1997) his work is mostly intuitive, where the influences of his studies in Fine Art (Academy Minerva) and Biology (RUG) play an important role. ‘I work like nature, a product of its time. Evolution without a preconceived plan. In this process, I am fascinated by the link between intuition and association and therein its relation to a universal visual language. It is like diving into the collective past of humankind and of life itself’. Through line and colour, Valentijn creates and researches a world in which everything is welcome. From the smallest organisms to the psychological need for myths and religion. Which makes every day is an adventure full of discoveries, a Darwin of his own world.
