Ciska Beens (1976) is a versatile artist who mainly moves in the world of drawing and painting. Her work has been exhibited in the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris and closer to home in Groningen. 

She shows the struggle between the desire for order and structures until the irrepressible need for looseness and liberation overturns everything again. 

At the same time, there is a sense of mystery. As if there is something beneath the surface that you just can't reach. Something to want to understand, but once you get a grip on it, you want to let go because the wonder is more important. Like an eternal dance between logic and poetry. 

Ciska has her studio in the Biotoop in Haren.
