Speculating Through Speculaas is a collaboration between Brazilian-Swedish designer Lara Benevides, Groningen based artist Lola Díaz Cantoni and EAT Collective. During the project of 5,5 weeks, they will explore various subjects using the Dutch speculaas koekjes and its wooden molds as departure points, investigating connections between art, food production and cultural heritage.

The project serves as a catalyst to stimulate dialogues and knowledge exchange, creating a space for reflections about culture heritage, family traditions and rituals, food production and sustainability. Throughout their process, Lara and EAT collective will meet and connect with local creatives and food producers, learning from their practices and exchanging ideas around the topic of speculaas. They will also be hosting and organising a series of events during their process. The project will conclude during a two week residency at stichting WEP and an exhibition the last weekend of May (24, 25, 26).
