Doughty and Frisky Green in Full Spring Sun
About this activity.
After the winter, this is the first exhibition of Linda Bouter and Tiny Bouter-Snijders in Roodeschool. There is new work on display, both in the gallery and in the studio.
In the winter, Linda focused on more abstract works in the context of form and color research. Unlike what you are used to from previous work, there are no longer human figures on her canvases. She has also expanded the number of scales of the Richter II scales. With the glazed bowls she combines both the beauty of the Groningen countryside and the earthquake problem. Unfortunately still relevant.
In addition to her own free work, making commissioned urns is also part of Linda Bouter Art.
What people often don't know is that you have all the time to select or have an urn made that is entirely in accordance with the wishes of the surviving relatives and in the spirit of the deceased.
The large funeral companies often encourage people to make a quick choice from an urn book. The urns offered there are generally standard urns, which are made in large quantities in an Asian country.
We enter into a conversation with the surviving relatives and in some cases with the person who will die in the foreseeable future.
Based on those conversations, I come up with a design. That design can still be adjusted. This begins, as it were, a joint search for the right shape and the right color: an urn that completely suits the deceased or that is according to the wishes of the surviving relatives.
Only then is the design implemented. The relatives are kept informed of the state of affairs and often come to look a few more times before the urn is fired and glazed.
You can also opt for a duo urn (two urns that together form one whole or are one whole) or you can opt for several smaller urns (for several children or grandchildren). In that respect, a lot is possible.
Some people prefer to choose an already existing urn. All our urns are custom designed and shaped by hand. The color is determined in consultation.
So there is plenty to see in different areas: paintings, ceramics, combined work, poems, consumer goods, urns, etc.
You are very welcome, in principle every day from 10 am to 4 pm. If you are coming from a little further away, we recommend that you call in advance (06-13030781) so that you can be sure that we will be there.
Als
Als kloek en dartel groen,
in volle lentezon ontwaakt,
