Workshop Fashion: Recycle your own clothes

VRIJDAG - Walstraat
3 March 2024

About this activity.

Do you want to learn what is possible with existing clothing, materials and accessories? Mix and match and also learn something? Then come and participate in this one-day sewing workshop by Amber Witte at VRIJDAG!

We will conduct out-of-the-box research into materials, combinations and/or patterns. And you will work with clothing and accessories you bring in yourself. We put together our 'own' cycle for a day from all the materials we brought with us, which we will use as a pantry and from which we will go shopping!

Sparring, thinking, trying and testing together is very important in this workshop. But ultimately you create your own piece of work. And that could be anything! From an original tote bag to a work of art with a statement. In the meantime, Amber can tell you everything about sustainable fashion, recycling techniques and materials and specific techniques, such as zero-waste sewing (sewing without residual waste).

In addition to technical information, a lot of attention is paid to experimenting, brainstorming, designing, shaping, learning to develop ideas and knowledge of materials. We will work with the sewing machine, serger, tearing and cutting, working on the doll and more. And everyone can participate, because the workshop is suitable for beginners and advanced students.
