SEEN #7, curated by MA & Gijs Deddens: Sholto Dobie & Piyojo
About this activity.
17 March | 20.00 – 23.00 | Free Entrance
Location: WEP, Van Leeuwenhoekstraat 44, Groningen.
Sholto Dobie | home-made organs & hurdy gurdy drones.
Sholto Dobie was born in Edinburgh and lives in Vilnius. He uses loose structuresand an array of sound-sources including home-made organs and hurdy gurdy. His performances are personal and intuitive, often coming across as delicate, evocative, and absurd.
Piyojo | playful electronic improvisations
Listening to the music of Dutch artist Rik Möhlmann can be a liberating experience. The work he makes under his moniker Piyojo has a distinct sound, characterized by a modest and direct way of recording musical sessions in which different textures are explored. Sounds appear from left to right, as if hidden behind trees or emerging from rivers. Möhlmann uses his eccentric and inquisitive approach to music to make songs that don’t necessarily behave in a narrative way. Instead, his tracks expose themselves like little paintings.
This is the 7th edition of SEEN, a new stage for (visual) art, music and everything in between. This edition is curated by MA and Gijs Deddens.
