SEEN #6
About this activity.
SEEN #6: Henrike Scholten and Allie van Altena.
Feb 24 | 20.00 – 23.00 | Free Entrance
Henrike Scholten works with colored pencil on paper. In her work she explores drawing as a process. In the abstract and figurative drawings that result from this, she often reuses visual material from the seventeenth century: not only works of art, but also the maps and board games that were available as printed prints at the time.
By reinterpreting historical images in a contemporary way, Scholten adds an ironic and feminist layer to that history. Her latest, three-dimensional drawings are about surfaces and superficiality.

Allie van Altena wants to make images that live like nature, like people and animals. The principle of receiving and passing on is the essence of his work.
With the composting of work - the destruction of existing work so that new work can be created, he shows that life and art are both transient and hopeful at the same time.
With his service to art and his relativistic attitude, Van Altena knows how to make the public think in an infectious way.
