For theater lovers aged 12-20
Shakespeare in the weekend
This weekend you create and perform the famous Shakespeare play Hamlet. Saturday is all about playing, making scenes, collecting attributes and choosing costumes, in other words: playing together and creating a performance led by director Anniek Akkerman. On Sunday we will rehearse until the last minute and then we go: Shakespeare's Hamlet in 20 minutes for the public in the VRIJDAG Prinsentheater!
To be or not to be, that's the question!
For theater lovers aged 8-12 years
Film played live in self-built theater model
Together we build a theater decor in the form of large scale models in a weekend. A model is the world imitated in miniature, think of Madurodam for example. In this mini-world created by you, various characters are brought to life in a performance entitled 'life in the drain'.
On Saturday we will mainly focus on the construction of this miniature world, on Sunday we will make scenes in it. At the end of the afternoon you will play and film the scenes live for your own audience in the VRIJDAG Prinsentheater. It will be a combination of theatre, visual arts, live animation, film and acting. Great imagination is more than welcome for this project. Under the leadership of theater maker Yvonne van Ginneken and scenographer/set designer Mieke den Braber, this is guaranteed to be a great weekend!
Theater weekend
This theater weekend is for students and non-students of VRIJDAG who would like to make (even more) theatre. The theater weekends are workshops that take place once in a weekend and are always focused on a different theme within the field of theater.
