Fynn van der Ziel (1996) is an illustrator and animator. As a multidisciplinary artist, he is drawn to all kinds of stories and characters, which he brings to life through a variety of techniques, ranging from drawing and sculpting to risograph printing and performance.

In 2021, he graduated from Academie Minerva with an experimental animation about the earthquakes in Groningen. In 2025, he completed the Comics program in Brussels, where he created several publications, including VIS, with which he won the Small Press Award.

In addition, he has been active for over four years as a poster designer for VERA in Groningen, creates many illustrations for medically related books, and is proudly known as the creator of Bartel Gloepman and Brother Roeland, comic characters through which he humorously explores human arrogance.
