Feast of the Spirit
About this activity.
The national church and art event Feest van de Geest ('Feast of the Spirit') takes place once every two years in the period from Ascension to Whit Monday. This year's theme is In Vuur en Vlam ('In Fire and Flame'). The party will be enthusiastically celebrated this year after corona with 29 artists in 25 churches in Groningen and North Drenthe.
The professional artists have created a work of art for each church based on this year's theme, inspired by the union of Pentecost and the architecture of the church building. In several disciplines, such as painting, sculpture, ceramics, monumental art, textiles, photography and others, 'In Vuur en Vlam' can be experienced.
