Aimée Terburg

Aimée Terburg (1971) is a visual artist. The space of the landscape has always played a role in her work. She investigates how she can best convey the many facets of seeing and experiencing a landscape to the viewer. From public participation projects, small labour-intensive drawings to paintings that capture the moment in one brush stroke or monumental murals, Her aim is to bring together looking and movement as simply as possible to capture the eye.

Wall painting Station Groningen Noord

“I made a wall-filling mural in ‘Kunstprojecten Noorderstation’, the former platform entrance to Station Groningen Noord. I also renovated the space technically for the following artists. The color bands that I have placed on the wall enhance the perspective of the stairwell, but at the same time change the compelling shape of the location. And as you walk up and down, the harsh color contrasts that shift become a conscious, physical experience. But you can choose where you stop for a color bath. That place is a beautiful and challenging whole. The art is continuously visible from the outside and upon entering, the visitor walks into your work of art.”

About project 'Lucht'

The corona measures have hit the art sector enormously. Exhibitions and art grants have been canceled or postponed. It is an uncertain time for many artists. With the Lucht project, Kunstpunt Groningen wants to support artists and designers from the municipality of Groningen. 87 Groningen artists have received a stipend with which they have created new work, including Aimée Terburg. With a billboard exhibition from September 27 to October 17, we present all artists spread throughout the city of Groningen. View the work of the other artists here.
