The Bundling (De Bundeling)

About this artwork.

Herman Bartelds' sculpture The Bundling has been standing on the site of the waste processing company VAGRON, since 2000. It is a gift from the VAGRON to the city of Groningen. 

The artwork is made up of various vertical forms of brass and bluestone that are interconnected. The Bundling symbolises the collaboration of two waste processing companies, VAGRON and ARCG. These companies are responsible for processing various waste streams from the Groningen region. 

The statue was unveiled by Queen Beatrix on May 9th. This took place during the official opening of the new VAGRON washing and fermentation plant.
