Jacob van der Meij

About this artwork.

A metre-long wall relief by Jacob van der Meij adorns the entrance door to the nursing home on Zonnelaan. On this relief, stylised human and animal creatures are depicted in different colours. The work consists of two parts: a part outside of and a part inside of the hall.
 
In front of the main entrance there is also an aluminium concrete sculpture by Van der Meij. “A guard” and a “watchtower with battlements” are the direct associations that this sculpture evokes.
 
In the Paddepoel district, there is another statue by Jacob van der Meij. This is the Growth symbol statue located near the former Rabobank head office on Pleiadenlaan.
