Jacob van der Meij

About this artwork.

In front of the main entrance to the nursing home on Zonnelaan stands the aluminium concrete statue by Jacob van der Meij. “A guard” and a “watchtower with battlements” are the direct associations this statue evokes.
 
At the entrance door you can also see a wall relief by Van der Meij. On this relief, stylised human and animal creatures are depicted in different colours. 
 
In the Paddepoel district, there is another statue by Jacob van der Meij. This is the Growth symbol statue located near the former Rabobank head office on Pleiadenlaan.
