De Constructie didn't take place in the Pavilion itself, but on and underneath it. Wim Warrink didn't use the Pavilion as an 'exhibition location', but made an intervention in which the slanting/tilting building was positioned unashamedly straight and horizontal. By negating the slanting/sloping position and therefore pretending that the structure is horizontal and straight.

The paradoxical effect was created by working with lines that were perpendicular to the base of the Pavilion. And with lines that ran level from the highest and lowest point of the Pavilion. This intervention made it look like a structure through which a large glass beam had been placed. This emphasised the shape of the Tschumi Pavilion and made it look even bigger. De Constructie was an ode to Bernard Tschumi's design.
