Multiple Fynn van der Ziel now for sale

Are you an art enthusiast? Then you have the opportunity to bring a unique artwork into your home created by the young artist Fynn van der Ziel. The artist has created a series of artworks called 'The Garden Party,' using a special printing technique that makes the images change as you move around the work. The multiple is the result of an annual commission from Kunstpunt, with the aim of supporting artists in their professional practice. Thanks in part to the membership fees of Kunstpunt's art rental clients, the project is made possible, which is why a special pre-sale starts for them today. From tomorrow, Thursday, December 9, the multiple will be available to everyone.

"I mainly work with plasticine, a non-drying clay. After shaping the material, I photograph it, then add digital color to it. It is then printed as a lenticular print, which involves a large plate with a plastic ribbed texture. The image changes depending on the angle from which the viewer sees it," van der Ziel explains his process. In this video, you can see van der Ziel working on the multiple in his studio.

'The Garden Party' consists of two scenes set in the garden of a country house: a serene scene in daylight and a festive scene at night. Van der Ziel drew inspiration for the multiple from the surroundings of Groningen and the farmhouse where he currently works. 'The Garden Party' reflects his experiences and memories of garden parties in the Groningen countryside.

6 copies

The artist has created 6 copies of this multiple. The artworks are now available for a special price of €480 (including a frame worth €180; the normal price of the work is €760). The special pre-sale for Kunstpunt members starts on Wednesday, November 8, and runs until Thursday, November 9, after which the multiple will be available to everyone. Interested individuals can contact via email at info@kunstpuntgroningen.nl.

Commissioned Art

Kunstpunt Groningen supports artists in their professional practice by annually commissioning a young artist to create a multiple. Fynn van der Ziel was unanimously selected from a pool of three artists by external advisors Tsjalling Venema and Mirjam Dijkema. "When we saw the proposal on paper, we wanted to see it in reality. What we also liked was that it's completely different from what we've shown in the past two years," explains the selection committee. In previous years, artists Mirthe van Wermeskerken (1998) and Eirik Jahnsen (1985) created multiples on commission, which sold out within a week.
