SIGN, ARTisBOOK and het resort present: SPREAD Zinefest 2024
About this activity.
SPREAD Zinefest is an annual festival focusing on self-published art, such as books, zines and prints. Creating, distributing and exhibiting is the focus, with activities including a zine market, zine library, workshops, lectures and events by various organisations.
From 26 to 29 September, you are welcome to visit SIGN. Here, the focus is on creating a pamphleteering, absurdist library by human and non-human artists. Here you will find an archive of bootleg films and zines with a queer perspective, a collection of stories about positive failure and the Counter Tourist Bakfiets full of unprecedented Groningen information
From 26 to 29 September, discover more about Bombay Underground (Bombay, India) at ARTisBOOK. These makers of self-published objects pulsade a raw, unfiltered energy. For four days, they will present their zines (all for sale) at ARTisBOOK.
On 28-29 September, het resort will host the zine market, with more than 35 (inter)national makers and publishers, lectures by Rietlanden Womans Office and others, a work-out by Kexin Hao, the film Buurthuis 2 by Josefin Arnell and a live radio platform.

Het resort onderzoekt de gedraging van een kunstinitiatief en zoekt naar nieuwe wegen, bevraagd de oude en doet suggesties. Ze test hoe de kunsten zich staande houden in omgevingen waar deze (nog) geen vaste positie heeft en kiest zowel de monumentale architectuur als de rafelranden waarin de (eerdere) functie van de omgeving een belangrijke rol speelt. Het resort zoekt naar de wildcards: ongebruikelijke combinaties van kunstenaars en omgevingen waarbij de uitkomsten onzeker zijn. Met haar episodes wil het resort een ontsnapping bieden uit het dagelijkse bestaan en vertelt ze het verhaal van kunst, misvatting, voorspoed, ambiance en champagne.
