The event is part of 'Talent van Hier', an initiative of the Groningen Grand Theater, which has commissioned five creative spaces in the city, SIGN, Noorderlicht, the resort, NP3 and Kunstpunt, to create a side program during the international Eurosonic/Noorderslag (ES/NS) festival. About H҉ y҉ p҉ e r҉ T r҉ o҉ v҉ e҉ §§ :
H҉ y҉ p҉ e r҉ T r҉ o҉ v҉ e҉ §§ explores each other's desires, complexity, norms, values and existential thoughts. How can we remain individuals and not lose our fluid identity in a shared, collective space? While we look for a place where we are part of a group, we still want to remain ourselves.
Hyperreal, hyperpop, hypermeta, hyperdata.
The cyber world gathers our souls and urges us to keep up. Social and self-transformation are part of our everyday conversations. It's all too much and sometimes we want to dance! ҉ Hy҉ p҉ e r҉ T r҉ o҉ v҉ e҉ §§ is a stage where we question reality, fiction, meta, ourselves and each other. It is a daring place to participate in a collective experience, connect to a hyper-timeline, and search for the treasure chest of answers.

About the co-curators:
Enrica Arbia (1997, IT) lives in Amsterdam & Radina Kordova (1994, BG), lives in Groningen, are artists and cultural producers, who find themselves in limbo between performance art, music and critical thinking. Their domain is the stage, they choose the experience of the audience and invited hybrid artists who question social structures and create new worlds.
After last year's first H҉ y҉ p҉ e r҉ T r҉ o҉ v҉ e҉ they are collaborating again and presenting a line-up that delves deeper into the interaction between personal identity, social structures, and collective dynamics.

About the participating artists/performers:
Elif Satanaya Özbay (1989 NL), born in the Netherlands with a Turkish-Circassian background, is an artist whose performance and research work revolves around diasporic nostalgia within the framework of horror. Referring to Circassian myths, contemporary entertainment and Turkish folklore, she initiates pieces that start from an autobiographical point and further fictionalize through mind mapping and linking methods. In SIGN she presents: 'What You Seek Is Not What You'll Want to Find' (2023), a performance inspired by the 1987 horror film Hellraiser, directed by Clive Barker and based on his novella The Hellbound Heart.
Elif Satanaya Özbay integrates this fact in her performance with personal history; through this mix she questions what it costs to belong and integrate, challenging the boundaries of the self, memory and home. “Angels for some, demons for others.”

Sergi Casero Nieto (1991, ES) is a Catalan theater maker, performer and designer based in Amsterdam. His work explores the political power of storytelling and sheds light on the subtle yet ubiquitous violence of hegemonic narratives in everyday life. Through his research he explores oral history and collective memory, combining personal experiences with elements from fiction and literature. Drawing from a wide range of sources, Casero Nieto challenges prejudices and highlights the complexity of inherited narratives.

Magdalena Petrova (1995, BG), is a multimedia performance artist and cultural worker based in Rotterdam since 2016. Her creative journey has been deeply influenced by the interplay between her animist Bulgarian heritage and the complexity of her upbringing amid the transforming shadows of post-Soviet reality. Magdalena's work manifests itself, in whatever form, as rituals and experiences; audiences are invited to explore paths to rise above their fears and celebrate change and perseverance. Through her practice and research, she aims to create places where individuals can reflect on faded dreams, hopes and ideas, while nurturing a sense of acceptance and love for the past, present and future. Petrova delves into ritual studies, ethnobotany, magical thinking, world-building, subculture and post-Soviet youth studies by integrating elements of Bulgarian traditional witchcraft and folklore.

Giek van Reality Cult (1987, Groningen, NL) is a star traveler and mystical visionary who channels the hidden wisdom of the Akashic records and ancient karmic cycles into multi-dimensional creations. Her work bridges human lives and combines experimental theatre, music and sacred stories to awaken esoteric truths and illuminate paths of liberation and transformation. Her handmade, zero-waste costumes – designed with inspiration from past lives – and immersive sets, which she uses to manifest her own reality, transport the audience to alternative realms where the boundaries of time and space blur. Giek brings stories about cosmic alignment to life, challenging and inspiring her audience to transcend the mundane and embrace their divine essence. https://www.reality-cult.com/
Ksenia Perek (1993, PL) is a performance and video artist based in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Xenia Perek is inspired by nightlife, among other things. She surrounds herself with explicit stories, dreams and physical states that she brings together into physical performances. Xenia is represented by the ADA art gallery in Rome. She is also part of one of Amsterdam's oldest drag houses; House of Hopelezz.
In 2021, Xenia won the Next Best Fringe Award with her performance PC Dreams; a disruptive and visually stimulating performance full of questions about human values in the digital age.
Quote: “The current art landscape is palliative, like a migraine without any coherent logic and thus fuels our fear. Artists are the undervalued working class. We have all the necessary production methods, yet we are the
bottom of the industry food chain. We want to work, but there is not enough work for everyone. Injustice which by definition leads to a cultural decimation of the content. It's time we became punks.” Writings 2024

Eigen Risico (1992 ES) is the project of multidisciplinary artist Héctor Garcia Martin, also known as Hache. Initially formed as a collective, where live art performance and music merged into an intense live show, Hector decided to go solo. Raw vocals, electronic punk beats and sentimental songs are the signature of Eigen Risk, unexpected beat changes and energetic performances that you don't want to miss.

Palestine Comedy Club Trailer by Alaa Shehada (video message) :
Alaa Shehada (1991) is an actor and comedian from Jenin (the West Bank).
Since October 2023, Alaa Shehada's life has been completely turned upside down. Alaa is now in the Netherlands and it is more urgent than ever that he tells his survival story. The performance is an ode to the power of imagination and the value of playing in freedom. It is at the same time physical folk theater of the highest level, a personal story about life in Palestine and a feast of the imagination.
