WEAVING LABS by Aisha Hachem

A guest is always aware of the threshold –
of what is theirs and what is borrowed, of what can be

included, but never quite at ease. You are welcomed,
yes, but welcome has limits.
And behind each act of hospitality lies the reminder:
this is not yours to keep.

But belonging begins in the smallest gestures:

Weaving Labs is een participatief project van Aisha Hachem, waarin zij onderzoek doet naar de snijvlakken van textiel, geheugen, identiteit, ontheemding en collectief verhalen vertellen.

De ruimte die Aisha creëert is geworteld in experiment, wederzijds leren, co-creatie en gemeenschap. In deze sessies zijn weven en borduren niet alleen ambachtelijke technieken, maar eerder culturele instrumenten om persoonlijke en collectieve politieke verhalen te verkennen, als daden van verzet en heling. In Aisha’s Weaving Labs worden traagheid en luisteren verwelkomd, wat gedeelde ruimte biedt voor verbinding en solidariteit.

Weaving Labs van Aisha Hachem is ontwikkeld binnen het LABitat programma bij NP3 | RE:Search:Gallery.

NP3.

NP3 is een tentoonstellings- en onderzoeksruimte voor hedendaagse experimenterende kunst. Zij beschikt over drie unieke locaties in de stad van Groningen met ieder een eigen architectuur, functie en uitstraling: RE:Search:Gallery aan de Hofstraat 21, de containerkunsthal MOBi aan de Suikerlaan 41 en eMMa het 24/7/365 interactieve programma in de Videobusstop van Rem Koolhaas op het Emmaplein.
