Verdwalen

Het MOW
11 May 2025 to 30 November 2025

About this activity.

In the exhibition Verdwalen, artists show how walking can lead you to the soul of a landscape.

About the Exhibition

By exploring the Groningen countryside on foot, you experience the landscape with all your senses. Each season offers new experiences, each path new discoveries. Walking is an intimate way to perceive your surroundings in all their richness and diversity and to become familiar with them.

Connection with the land

Our current society is largely focused on speed and productivity. We rarely make time to slow down and truly let the landscape speak to us. Walking stimulates curiosity, about nature, history, stories and about the unique character of the place you are in.

Exhibiting artists

More than 30 artists ventured outdoors specifically for Verdwalen and translated their impressions into surprising paintings, drawings, prints, photographs, installations, and digital presentations.

Get more from the exhibition

A cozy picnic area in the exhibition invites visitors to share their walking experiences.

Young visitors can follow an exciting trail through the museum's galleries, equipped with a filled backpack and a mission to get “lost.”

Strolling or power walking? Starting mid-June, you can experiment with all the different ways of walking on the trails of the museum forest.
