De Kleuren van het Wad ('The Colours of the Wadden Sea')
About this activity.
When you think of De Ploeg, you think of bright, contrasting colours. But when you see the mudflats with your own eyes, everything is grey, as Ploeger Jan Altink once described it. How do artists tackle the mudflat landscape with colour? Every artist sees the mudflat landscape through their own lens. De Kleuren van het Wad ('The Colours of the Wadden Sea') brings together work by 20th-century Ploeg members with work by modern and contemporary artists. We take you on a journey through a century of Wadden Sea colours, from bright and contrasting to true to life.
Guest curator and researcher Anna-Rosja Haveman put together this exhibition and made a selection of artworks in which colour not only expresses emotions, but also raises ecological questions.
