In the series of duo exhibitions 'Guests', Henk Kraayenzank will receive Bernard Divendal in his studio until 11 December.

With the motto 'New or never' that Divendal applies to his work in this exhibition, he refers to the urgency of painting. And to the need he feels to constantly have an eye for new possibilities and solutions in the work: 'For painting, that means: being prepared to intervene drastically in an image if necessary, despite all the effort I had until then. have done. And including the risk of complete failure. What remains is the urge to paint, to evoke images that fascinate me, and then also the viewer, and seem good and necessary. Again and again, as a perhaps futile attempt to force the chaos, partly by myself, into a certain order'.
