Bonnie Severien's paintings depict a new paradise in which modernist architecture and exuberant nature merge. Clean lines and organic forms flow together to create serene oases, detached from time and human intervention.
Inspired by a childhood spent in white new-build homes—places where nature had yet to emerge—she creates tranquil worlds in which architecture provides space for growth, contemplation, and peace. The physical absence of people reinforces the mysterious, meditative atmosphere of the work.
Bonnie Severien graduated from the Royal Academy of Art in The Hague. She has been nominated five times for the Royal Prize for Modern Painting and has exhibited at the Royal Palace Amsterdam, the Kunstmuseum Den Haag, and international art fairs such as Volta/Art Basel (CH) and AAF Hamburg (DE). She received a working grant from the Mondriaan Fund and her work is included in museum, private, and corporate collections worldwide.
