Graduation Show Classical Academy 2023

About this activity.

Thirteen graduated artists from the Classical Academy of Visual Arts in Groningen will show their graduation work from 5 to 23 July at Kunstlievend Genootschap Pictura at St.Walburgstraat 1 in Groningen.

At the Classical Academy, students are trained as visual artists in five years by renowned teachers from the art world.
The curriculum of classical skills in combination with contemporary expression theories is reflected in the diversity of the works on display. Students come to the Classical Academy from all over the Netherlands and several graduates have successfully participated in national television programs such as the Nieuwe Vermeer, Project Rembrandt and Sterren op het Doek.

This year, too, the graduation work is of high quality and diverse in terms of theme, technique and perspective. All thirteen graduates have found their own way as visual artists in the Master's programme.

Pictura.

Het Kunstlievend Genootschap Pictura in Groningen werd opgericht in 1832 met als doel: 'de beeldende kunst en de nijverheidskunst in de ruimste zin van het woord aan te moedigen en te bevorderen.' Pictura is gehuisvest in een mooi, monumentaal pand aan het Martinikerkhof in Groningen. In de sfeervolle zalen exposeren professionele kunstenaars van uiteenlopende richtingen en disciplines, maar de hoofdmoot is figuratief.
