About this activity.

Vogel-Vrij is a community art project by Myrte van Dijk. The art installation of thousands of ceramic birds creates a special atmosphere in the galleries of Museum Klooster Ter Apel.

Freedom
The birds were made by more than 1000 people. For many of them it is difficult to understand that our hands are our best tools. Can our hands, which do so much swiping, clicking and typing, create exactly what we have in our heads? Or is freedom of thought and action necessary to dare to create something?

Own character
Myrte van Dijk wants to introduce as many people as possible to sculpting. She does this by making birds from clay together. All those birds together form a special work of art. Each bird has its own character. Just like the person who makes it.
